HERNIA SURGERY COST

WHAT CAUSES A HERNIA?

A hernia is a condition where a weakness in the abdominal wall allows the protrusion of fat and intestine, causing a bulge to be felt. The two most common hernias that require surgery are those in the groin (inguinal hernia), and those through the belly button (umbilical hernia). Each of these hernias is easily diagnosed by a bulge that can be felt or–in the case of large hernias– be seen. Occasionally, inguinal hernias can become large enough that they extend into the scrotum.

HERNIA REPAIRS ARE A ROUTINE OPERATION

Hernia repair is one of the most common operations performed in this country. Each year, more than 700,000 patients in the United States undergo hernia surgery, and our hernia center has performed several thousand of these hernia operations for patients from across the county.

WHAT’S THE AVERAGE COST OF A HERNIA SURGERY?

Many of these hernia operations are done at hospitals, where the fees are very high. In fact, the average hospital bill for a routine hernia operation is $5,800 and that doesn’t include the hernia doctors’ bills. Many of our patients have been told that the cost at their local hospitals can be over $10,000!!

The high costs of the hernia surgery are then passed on to the insurance companies. If you are uninsured, or have a high deductible, then you end up with a large bill. In addition, hospitals and doctors usually charge uninsured patients much higher fees than the insurance companies pay. It’s not fair, but that’s the way it usually is.

Another problem patients often face after receiving hernia treatment at the hospital is the unexpected bills which come afterwards. It is often impossible to get an accurate estimate of the cost before hernia surgery, and so the true cost of repairing a hernia may not be known until weeks after the hernia operation.

THE AFFORDABLE, LOW COST HERNIA SOLUTION FOR THE CARE YOU NEED

In contrast, our hernia surgeries are done at a modern and fully certified outpatient hernia surgery center, which offers much lower costs. These savings get passed on to our patients. Our low-cost price of $2,600 is complete and covers the entire hernia surgery, including the surgical fee, the anesthesia fee, and the operating room charges. If you are coming to us for two hernia surgeries, our cost to cover the entire operation is $3,700.

At Affordable Hernia Surgery, our goal is to provide high quality hernia surgery at a fair price. That is why we tell you up front exactly how much your hernia surgery will cost. There are no hidden charges or unexpected bills to get the hernia treatment you deserve.

Our patients come from all over the United States to get their hernia surgery at our surgery center because of our affordable, low cost hernia operations. Don’t suffer from your hernia anymore – contact our office today to schedule a consultation!
